A Mayflower By Any Other Name...

So, we have safely arrived at our first holiday destination. One of our holiday traditions is that Pop (my dad) smokes a turkey. Every year, he calls and reminds the grandchildren (there are four of them) to bring an apple, which they will stuff in the cavity of the turkey. They all get to help sprinkle the seasonings and get the bird ready for the fire. Great photo-ops, and the kids always look forward to it.

This year, Pop decided to have a little lesson on the history of Thanksgiving. He did so in the form of a quiz contest...like a Thanksgiving game show in the living room. He asked The President what was the name of the ship that the Pilgrims sailed from England to American on. As The President hesitated to come up with the correct answer, my nephew was jumping up and down..."Oh, I know this one! This is an easy one!" finally, The President drew a blank, and gave his turn over to my nephew, who proudly answered....

"THE CAULIFLOWER!!!!!!!"

Happy Turkey Day, Y'all!
